Celebrating Empty Classroom Day with a trip to the river!

Friday 19th June was Empty Classroom Day, a day where school children were challenged to spend at least one lesson outside of the classroom to encourage outdoor learning. In Class 5, we enjoy working outside so we used this extra opportunity to walk down to the river in East Harling to embark on a spot of river dipping. Our current Science topic is Living Things and Habitats and in particular this week we were focusing upon the life cycles of insects and amphibians so exploring the river wildlife fitted perfectly. We found a huge variety of wildlife and we will be looking back at the photos of our findings this week to start classifying what we actually found and discovering more about their life cycles.
